Potty Party!

We started potty training in July, and after Tate went potty we had a potty party where he got to blow out a candle and sing "Happy Potty Party to Yo" to the tune of Happy Birthday. I know, I know, so creative. He loved it so much he hoped right off the chair and back to the potty to do it all over again, and again, and again. After about 10 times of this and multiple distractions on my part to try to get him to stop going potty I finally threatened the kids if they said the word "potty" one more time they were going to their room. Since then things have been going pretty well. We are still workin' on Poop, it's not going quite as well.

If you don't know Tate he loves his blanket and loves to suck his thumb. Here he is doing both both on the potty. He was sitting there and looked down and saw his blanket and stuck out his foot to feel it and immediately his thumb went into his mouth. So sweet!

Back to School

My sweet little Avary is now a 2nd grader! Wow! She is excelling in school as usual. And still boasts about being the tallest in her class.

Dallon started Kindergarten this year, and is loving it! He is thriving in school. Things that I have been working on with him have all of the sudden started to click coming from his teacher. but of course teacher knows everything, and mom knows nothing. :)I am enjoying my peace and quiet every day with two kids in school, and the other two in their beds. Just think, another 6 years and I will have the whole day all to my self!!!

Quadrathalon

Rob participated in the third annual quadrathalon with some guys from work on August 8th. Huh? What's that you ask? 1. Swimming 2. Biking 3. Running 4. BBQ. It was lots of fun. We went up to Jordanelle where they swam in the lake. Robs first experience with lake swimming and although a little harder that lap swimming in a pool he enjoyed it. We had lots of fun. Rob loves swimming, and wants to participate in more races in the years to come. All I have to say is, they just don't make spedo's like they use to!!

Happy 5th Birthday Dallon!

Dallon turned 5 on June 15th. We had a fun little family party. Grandma MaryLee sent him a birthday hat which he proudly wore the whole night. He loves Transformers so I attempted a transformer cake. Here are a few fun facts about Dallon. First and foremost he loves to laugh. He loves all things funny. He still loves doing crazy tricks. favorite toys are transformers. favorite colors are blue and green and has a strong dislike for girl colors like pink, & purple. He has this great way about him where he will tell you how he perceives something and it is totally wrong, but totally creative and funny to us adults. He doesn't like his calick to stick up so the other day he just cut it off. He loves Wii and is awesome at Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones. He loves to play games, board games card games any games, he loves them. He is a good sweet boy with a big heart. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH DALLON!!

Don't be fooled by that sweet face

Yes, he may look so sweet and innocent when he has is blanket sucking his thumb, but don't be fooled. Our little Tate is quite the handful.

Exhibit A: As I was sitting on the couch feeding the baby I thought to myself, odd, it kind of smells like baby powder. that's when the red light goes off and I put Gage down, and run upstairs to a huge explosion of, yes you guessed it, BABY POWDER! It was everywhere! All Tate had to say for himself was "it messy, big mess." He had dumped an entire bottle of powder all over his room. That was a fun one to clean.

Exhibit B: As I was cleaning up dinner the other night I look over and just as I say Tate No! there was another explosion, only this time it was real sparks. He had a screwdriver and stuck it in between the prongs of the cord and and outlet. luckily he was holding onto the handle and didn't get shocked. But it sure scared him. His words this time were "big fire."

I don't have pictures of Exhibit C,D,E,F..... I lot of the time I was just to mad to think to get out the camera. Like when he dumped the dog shampoo, my bottle of hand soap, Avarys Shampoo, and the dish soap all down the drain, on separate occasions. The list goes on and on, but we sure love our sweet little bundle of personality!

The trouble with nail polish

We were visiting Grandma on Sunday and Avary
asked Grandma to paint her nails. Well, it just looked like too much fun for Dallon to pass up and he had to have his done too. Later he was up in the bathroom calling for his Dad. When Rob gets in there, Dallon says, "Dad, you need to wipe my bum because I don't want to mess up my nails."
This coming from the boy who was mortified a few days ago because I told him his favorite color use to be pink, and he wore princess dress-ups. What a cute, sweet boy!

My morning

So, after telling Avary to put her backpack on for 5 min. so she can catch the bus, she finally makes her way to the door as the bus honks for her she notices the sprinklers are spraying the side walk and doesn't want to go out. As I am telling her she has got to hurry the bus starts pulling away so I start pushing her out the door and the dog makes a run for it. I am holding the baby in one arm and chasing the dog through the sprinklers the whole time yelling at Avary to get on the bus because the driver is waiting thinking that I am loosing it I'm sure (which he would be right at that moment). The dog and Avary make their way across the street to the bus and Avary gets in and the dog goes under. I tell the bus driver to just go but he is concerned about running over the dog, and at the time that sounded like a pretty good idea to me. I finally grab the dog with my one free arm and carry him across the street, through the sprinklers, and into the house by skin around his neck, and trow him in his crate. I then precede to call Rob and lecture him about having the sprinklers on at 8:30 in the morning, and he thinks my story was funny and laughs. Which was not a good idea because at the time I did not think it was very funny. I was pretty mad, and let him know it. I have since calmed down and can laugh about it now. I still need to call Rob back and apologize though. I am going to blame it on the adjustment of trying to be a mother of 4!!! The joys of motherhood (and puppy motherhood)!
